Sunday is always a day of surprises and new experiences at the dog park. Today was no exception. On Saturday and especially Sunday a lot of people and dogs come tho the park that do not come every day. I call them the "weekenders". There is nothing wrong with them being there. The more the merrier but it does throw my routine off. That makes me a little nervous as I am a creature of habit. As we set off down Chipmunk Ally we saw Elvis, Betsy,Henry, Shawna, Abby and a bunch of other dogs who I can not remember right now. Soon we saw Pearl and a gaggle of others. All the dogs were bunched together on the path and I just wanted out so I ran off up the hill. I missed Mimi so much. I feel a little empty inside with out my trusty side kick. Get better soon. We went to the beach and there we found 2 German Shepherd puppies. They are 14 week old siblings from Tennessee. They are Johnny Reb and Southern Belle. Reb and Belle for short. I am totally looking forward to them growning up. We went to the beach and Abby the Mastiff joined me. I dug in the mud for a long time. My person wants me to stop. I wish she would just come down here and smell how good this stuff is. She will never understand. After a nice dip I left with Shawna and met a very cool guy named Rusty. Shawna and I chased a couple of squirrels together in the woods near the deep part of the river. Her person talked about how slow Shawna is. She said that the rabbits in their yard taunt Shawna because they know she can not catch them. GEEEZZZZEEEE! Can't people keep any secrets about our short comings. They gotta embarrass us in public. I will keep your secret Shawna. Oh wait, I think I just blew that.
We saw Daisy in the big field and we played together with a stick for some time. Her person and my person are serious Canine Cronies. Anyway, off we went and saw some dogs here and there. We saw the Newfie's on the way out. Their person rocks but she was with this other woman that scares me. Do not ask me why but I can not help but bark at her and run off. I must respect how I feel and I feel unsettled around that person. My advise to others is bark, duck and weave. Do not bite as you will get in big trouble for that but speak your mind. Even if your bark shakes!
Merlin.
